The IACC2025 annual conference has been successfully organised in Birmingham by the team from the University of Birmingham, Queen’s University and State Grid GEIRI EUROPE. Two plenary speakers, Professor Anna Korre, Imperial College London, and Professor Colin Snape from the University of Nottingham, gave interesting presentations about the health risk assessment around amine based post-combustion carbon capture plants, and the hurdles to develop cost-effective adsorbents for CO2 capture, respectively.
The conference also has 7 keynote speakers covering research topics of solid sorbent carbon capture, AI-enabled electrochemical CO2 reduction, challenges in CO2 hydrogenation, CO2 conversion into organic chemicals, polymer membranes for carbon capture, and environmental impact assessments etc. The conference also presented the IACC Carbon Capture Distinguished Investigator Awards, IACC-SMS Awards and Best Presentation Awards. The hybrid annual general meeting of IACC was also held during this conference to update the development of IACC. Some pictures are attached below:
