Dr Zongli Xie, is a Principal Research Scientist and a Research Group Leader of Materials for Energy, Environment and Health at CSIRO Manufacturing, Australia. She is also the current Vice President of Membrane Society of Australasia (MSA). Dr Xie has extensive research experience in collaboration wtih industries on advanced membrane materials/technolgies and catalysis for energy and environment. Dr Xie has author/co-authored over 130 journal publications (>6900 citations and h-index of 44), 5 patents, 4 invited book chapters, and over 30 confidential commercial technical reports. The highlight of her achievement includes the commercially scale up of the production of ceramic material for solid oxide fuel cell ($12M capital investment), commercial trial of the catalytic deodorisation technology and N2O abatment catalysts for industrial emission control, and development of dual layer nanocomposite membranes for hypersaline wastewater treatment. Her acehivement has led to many awards including the most recent MSA collaboration award (2021) and CSIRO Julius Award (2019). She also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Victoria University, a board member of Monash Centre for Membrane Innovation, Associate editor of Separation Science and Technology, and the editorial board member of Membranes, Advanced Membranes and Results in Engineering
